THE POETRY OF IMPERFECTION
Imperfettolab is both workshop and gallery: a living space, shaped by an everyday practice that never separates creation from life. Above all, it is a family, in which each member takes part in a continuous creative process, nourished by everyday gestures.
The Imperfettolab collection lives outside time and trends: a sequence without dates, suspended between an archaic past and a future still open. Its formal alphabet springs from nature and from primary shapes — essential and ancestral — reinterpreted in a contemporary key. From this vision come furniture and objects that do not seek a comfortable beauty: they prefer to question, provoke and make us think.
The character of the works is clear-cut, true to an ethic of black or white, with rare metallic accents. Curving, sinuous lines, often out of scale, spark immediate emotional reactions. The works play with contrasts: the plastic material redraws nature in a dreamlike guise; scale, even when exaggerated, becomes illusion and creates an unexpected lightness. Then there is the ability to desacralise the classical: the ancient form is broken down and reinvented as contemporary pieces, capable of inhabiting a villa or a loft, a museum, a Renaissance palazzo or a penthouse on the rooftops of Manhattan.
In this poetics, beauty reveals itself through imperfections: not flaws, but traces of the finest craftsmanship on the material. Born from the more than twenty-year symbiosis between Verter Turroni and Emanuela Ravelli, Imperfettolab tells the eternal battle between «nature» and «technè». Today this research reaches a new stage in VESTIGIA, the latest collection designed by Verter Turroni: inspired by imaginary relics of the past, it blends their history with a light, modern material, giving shape to a sculptural design that is at once wild and metaphysical.
