Obsydian specialises in working semi-precious stones to create precious architectural details. Original Obsydian stones are incorporated into furnishing and design projects, creating a perfect combination with other materials and increasing their overall value. The brand guarantees materials selected according to rigorous criteria, from the purest and rarest lots in the world.
The originality of Obsydian stones derives not only from the sourcing method, but above all from the artisan workmanship with which they are transformed, treated with almost obsessive care. Only the most expert artisans can guarantee production that meets the standards: a craft handed down like a secret recipe of mastery.
Hard-stone inserts can be applied to doors and to vertical or horizontal supports of any kind, on any rigid base — wood, metal or stone — creating design geometries and elegant combinations of materials. They can also be used as inserts on knobs, handles, taps and control panels, or in the form of strips, cabochons and rounded surfaces.
CONCEPT
We are developing two design ideas: one led by our in-house style and development department, and one in collaboration with the Atelier Design Lab of Joe Gentile and Fabio Crippa.
OBSYDIAN DESIGN COFFEE TABLE
The coffee tables created by Obsydian's style department are the first products to incorporate another precious material appreciated worldwide: natural mother-of-pearl. A raw material of the highest quality, combined with refined workmanship that blends perfectly with our stones.
