CREATING BEAUTY MEANS CONTEMPLATING THE LUXURY OF TIME
There is a time that belongs to all of us, one we keep in our deepest memories and from which we have inherited the archetype of perfection.
A dimension of the intellect from which we draw our ideals of purity, and a remote time that forged rare materials, icons of an unspoilt nature to which we aspire.
Raro offers a selection of products in which innovation coexists with memory, in which technology is supported by the human dimension, in which fine materials are enhanced by quality know-how handed down by generations of masters.
Objects that respond to the new needs of a contemporary society ever more symbiotic with digital devices, which at the same time recognises and appreciates the quality of fine manufacturing with precious materials made to last.
The product and its relationship with design
This is how the Enki collection of wireless charging pads was born, designed by the Milanese duo Atelier Design Lab. Joe Gentile and Fabio Crippa have an authorial approach to design, driven by aesthetic sensitivity, a passion for materials, refinement and formal flair, deep technical culture and an international vision.
In every project there is a constant search for this immaterial bridge between past and present, this desire for continuity of the typically Italian artistic culture, cross-pollinated with fashion, architecture and cultural influences from every part of the world.
The collection
Enki is a capsule collection of induction chargers in semi-precious natural materials, available in seven different hard stones that can be combined with three different metal finishes.
Enki and Enki+ differ in their technological set-up: single or double induction charging coil.
The variety of products allows a very wide range of combinations, designed for a public that demands exclusivity and refinement. Objects with a strong personality which, beyond their functional performance, steal the scene and give character to the whole setting in which they are placed.
The carefully selected materials range from Malachite to Amethyst, from Amazonite to Tiger's Eye, through Sodalite, Red Jasper and iridescent Labradorite. The metal finishes are obtained by electroplating in Gold, Silver or Gunmetal steel, then hand-polished as in the finest jewellery.
Original Obsydian® stones
All Raro products are made in Italy through a controlled supply chain that combines advanced electronic components with fine artisan workmanship.
This Slow Tech model guarantees quality technological products, designed to create value over time. The product is made in Italy by high-end manufacturers able to work hard stones to unprecedented thicknesses that allow full compatibility with the electromagnetic transfer of induction technology.
The Original Obsydian Stone brand guarantees the processing of semi-precious materials according to advanced artisan processes carefully refined over time.
The natural character of the materials, never identical to themselves, makes every single Raro product unique and unrepeatable.
Red jasper. An opaque sedimentary stone formed of quartz containing iron atoms, which give the mineral its sought-after reddish colours, often enriched by light or dark veins. The mineral may originate from sponges and the siliceous shells of diatoms, single-celled algae that appeared in the Cretaceous.
Tiger's eye. A microcrystalline quartz showing variations of brown and copper with yellow or golden veins. Its striations define the uniqueness of this mineral, in which crocidolite fibres create magnificent light effects. These blends give the mineral a wild, impetuous touch. Its shimmer and reflections, known as “chatoyancy”, recall the colour of the tiger's iris from which it takes its name.
Sodalite. A sodium silicate, from which it takes its name, belonging to the family of volcanic stones and formed by the cooling and solidification of liquid magma. In its opaque blue-grey colour with white feldspar streaks, one seems to glimpse the depths of the abyss in their constantly changing motion.
Labradorite. A mineral found in various igneous rocks, with an iridescent grey-greenish colour. Its “labradorescence” is captivating: a sparkle of metallic reflections in green, violet, sky blue, blue, gold and orange, a vivid colour that varies across the whole surface of the stone. Light, through refraction, moulds itself onto every element and returns in iridescent reflections and multiple shades, creating multifaceted perceptions.
Amazonite. Also known as the “Amazon stone”, it is a rare mineral extracted almost entirely in the Ural Mountains region of Russia, within granite rocks. Its shades of green are captivating, from pale to bright turquoise, often enriched by white veins: a luminous purity you could almost immerse yourself in, like crystal-clear waters bathed in sunlight.
Iron eye. An opaque variety of quartz composed of layers of red jasper, hematite and tiger's eye that fused together over 2 billion years ago, during the formation of the Australian continent. The yellow, red and grey-black streaks arise from the combination of the three elements and characterise the mineral, giving it unrivalled elegance.
Amethyst. A quartz found in geodes, cavities within igneous rocks. The mineral was already known in Egypt and Mesopotamia by 3000 BC. Its shades of purple, ranging from the palest lilac to deep purple, are due to the presence of iron. Its lustre is vitreous and its purple flashes are shrouded in the mystery of the mists of time.
